In collaboration with Marshall Amplification, Alfa Romeo has unveiled a unique Alfa MiTo by Marshall concept car.
The music brand is one of the most legendary names in high-quality guitar amps, and the look of the one-off model draws heavily from the style of amplification equipment. The gold panel grille finish, headlight surrounds, door mirror caps, handles and low bumper trims are all reminiscent of Marshall products.
On the inside of the car, distinctive white piping lines the centre consoles and seats and more gold is visible across the Alfa D.N.A selector system. All seats are specially upholstered with identical textiles to those used on Marshall amplifiers. In a thoughtful design move, the gearstick shape is that of a Shure SH55 microphone, with the gear layout engraved into the head.
As the one-of-a-kind MiTo by Marshall is based heavily on the original, it also features an energetic 1.6-litre engine at 120bhp, the Uconnect infotainment system on a five-inch colour touchscreen, chromed exhaust pipes and aluminium sports pedals.
A Marshall JVM 50w amp head has been custom fitted to the MiTo, linked with two 12-inch 75w speakers installed in the boot. Owners can plug in their guitar and turn up the power for an innovative full car sound system.
The first appearance of the car took place at an invitation-only viewing of Foo Fighters' frontman Dave Grohl's new Sound City documentary on June 24th. It will continue to be presented at some of the biggest music and automotive events throughout the remainder of 2014.
