Renault is ready to compete with its quirky rivals in the supermini sector and has upped styling to include a wide range of paint and finishes, body coloured bumpers and a fresh range of upholstery options. On the inside the Modus is exceptionally airy and the cabin feel huge thanks to the expansive use of glass and panoramic sunroof. Sit in the driving seat and the tall commanding position would lead you to think this really was a full sized MPV, and as for the drive it's one of the best handling cars in its class. The engine lineup consists of two 1.2 litre petrol units, a 75bhp and a 100bhp version. Step up to the 98bhp 1.4 litre for added zest. Diesel power is provided in the shape of a 68bhp or an 86bhp 1.5 litre dCi unit.
