Renault has upped their game to match the competition with the Renault Twingo and it's available with a host of neat design touches. You can customise yours with accessory packs that include flowers, stripes and checked graphics and the overall feel is contemporary and fun without being too attention seeking. There's plenty of space for back seat passengers and luggage and the layout can be adapted to prioritise for either, with 959 litres of stowage space with the rear seats folded flat.

The engine range offers a good selection to cherry pick from. The entry level offering is a 1.2 litre 8 valve 60bhp petrol unit followed by a 75bhp 16 valve and a 100bhp version. This compact engine is more than enough to power the Twingo around town and up and down the motorway on longer journeys. However if you'd like something with a little more punch, Renaultsport 133 models can be paired with a 133bhp 1.6 litre unit that zips to sixty in under eight seconds. There really isn't a bad engine in the bunch, and even the entry level 60bhp unit serves up a brilliant 50.4mpg and emissions of just 132g/km emissions.

Equipment levels are generous, with Renault kitting out each Renault Twingo with folding rear seat, CD stereo with steering mounted controls, front fog lights, electric front windows and a rev counter. There is also a tempting options list, with Bluetooth connectivity and an MP3 adaptor available for a small fee.
