Energy efficient options at Lookers

Going green has a number of advantages. You'll reduce your environmental impact by limiting CO2 emissions, and this can also lower the amount of road tax or company car tax that you are expected to pay. You can also significantly enhance fuel economy, saving you money and preventing the need for frequent refuelling stops.

But with increasing numbers of eco-friendly cars available, choosing the right model for you can be difficult. At Lookers, we represent a variety of the world's top automotive brands, and our showrooms house some of the latest green models. We've listed a few of our energy efficient cars below, to help you decide.

The Citroën DS5 Hybrid4 has a full hybrid diesel drivetrain, combining an HDi engine with an electric motor. A Multimodal Drive System allows you to alter driving dynamics to suit the conditions, between Auto, ZEV, 4WD and Sport, and the ZEV mode relies entirely on the electric motor, reducing your CO2 emissions to zero.

Combined fuel economy is also impressive, at 83.1mpg, and the 200bhp allows this Citroën to offer scintillating performance as well.

If you don't want to make the jump to a full hybrid, the classic Ford Fiesta is an excellent all-round option, offering class-leading economy as well as real functionality. The 1.6-litre TDCi engine uses ECOnetic technology to boost fuel economy to 85.6mpg, while limiting CO2 emissions to 87g/km. It's generally assumed that diesel engines are more efficient than their petrol counterparts, however the Fiesta can also be fitted with an EcoBoost petrol engine, showing better efficiency than many of its rivals. The 1.0-litre EcoBoost limits emissions to below 100g/km.

Utilising Continuously Variable Transmission instead of a regular gearbox, the Honda Insight stakes its claim as one of our most technologically advanced cars. An Eco Assist system provides you with up-to-the-minute information on how efficient your driving is, and the car's hybrid powertrain means that all models emit less than 100g/km of CO2. With fuel economy approaching 70mpg on the combined cycle, you'll be able to complete longer journeys for less.

There are plenty more energy efficient cars at Lookers, and you can find our showrooms throughout the UK. To find out more about any of our models, or to book a test drive, please contact our friendly team today.
