New C1 from Citroen

The new Citroen C1, which is claiming to be one of the cleanest and greenest compact cars ever manufactured by Citroen, will be unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show on 10th January 2012.

The new Citroen C1 boasts improvements such as a new paddle control Electronic Gearbox System for increased control, low CO2 emissions of just 104g/Km, and an efficient fuel consumption at 62.8mpg (combined).  Customers will be able to buy the new Citroen C1 in a three-door or five-door model, and depending on the configuration/adjustments, the boot can go from 139 litres storage to more than 700 litres.

From an aesthetical perspective the Citroen designers worked to ensure the newest C1 was more visually appealing too.  The glass tailgate at the back holds the new-look chevrons, the front bonnet has been shortened, the alloy wheels have been re-designed (named the “Notus” and”Rift”) and inside, certain models come with a leather steering wheel and seats, with a new-look gearstick for manual drivers.

On the outside the new C1 will come in a range of colours including Scarletred, Electra blue, Lipizzan white, Caldera black and two greys, Gallium grey, which is light and a darker Carlinite grey.  There will even be a special launch colour available – the Botticelli Blue, which is currently available on the Citroen DS3 and Citroen C3.

The new C1 will launch in Brussels first, and expected to be on sale in the UK from April 2012.
