Romanian manufacturer Dacia has revealed a concept 6x6 vehicle called the 'Dustruck' – a combination of its popular Duster and a powerful large truck. The model has been covered by some of the brand's international markets earlier this year, and continues to generate speculation about Dacia's next move.
It's suspected that the model has been revealed as a challenge to the AMG 6x6 recently unveiled by BMW. Dacia's comparatively budget image would not normally see the brand take on a rival such as BMW, yet the appeal of the range shows a clear market for new vehicles from the manufacturer.
A truck frame has been added to the Duster's confident body, creating the foundations for a six-wheel style. The Dustruck has not been seen in motion, but is strongly rumoured to contain a powerful V8 engine.
There are as yet no plans for the Dustruck to enter production in any of Dacia's markets.
The Dacia Duster itself is a repeated award winner in the UK, claiming the top spot in 'Best Small SUV' categories at many of the industry's most prestigious awards ceremonies. It's been named as a 'Car of the Year' in 2012, 2013 and 2014, with a bold winning streak that looks set to continue.
