Fiat 500X seen again as reveal nears
5th September 2014
Fiat's 500X has been spotted during testing once again, as the model's official debut nears. The car was seen under heavy camouflage in Germany as testing continues, with the Paris Motor Show in October scheduled for its global reveal.
The 500X will take the model range into new territory as an SUV, although rugged variations are already on the road in the shape of the 500L Trekking. The 500X keeps the retro looks of the original compact hatchback and adds an increased ride height for better visibility at the wheel.
As a crossover SUV, the model will retain plenty of so it won't look out of place when cruising through town, and the 500's characteristic rounded front and rear lights plus a high waistline will feature.
The vehicle is expected to be offered with a capable 4X4 system shared with its Jeep Renegade stablemate, meaning Fiat's refined MultiJet powertrain is likely. A two-wheel drive variant is also probable to target greater numbers.
Following the 500X's appearance in Paris, the order books should open in Europe sometime during the autumn. With Lookers Fiat in Stockport, you can test drive the model as soon as it arrives in the UK by enquiring with our team directly.
