Have a carnival with the Ford Fiesta
The Ford Fiesta has taken a real hold of the car-driving public, with its superb style and constant improvements to its models and features. With three current models, the Studio, the Style and the Edge, there is a range to suit every pocket.
Engines
The Studio is the entry-level range and comes in a three-door and five-door version. There are eight configurations of engines and transmissions, and costs are commensurate with the increase in engine size and type. The basic level is a 1.2-litre petrol engine, the 60PS Stage 5 that comes as a five-speed manual. However, the range offers nine engine/transmission options of which the 1.6-litre Duratorg TDC1 +DPF Stage 5 ECOnetic offers by far the best fuel consumption of an average 78.5 mpg. Its CO2 emissions are 95 g/km so there is no road tax to pay.
For the Style, engines have seven petrol versions and one diesel version. There is plenty of choice between engine sizes, though only the 1.4-litre 96 PS has an automatic transmission. The 1.6-litre petrol engine pushes out 134 PS or a slightly lesser 120 PS if required, both having five-speed manual gearboxes.
Engines remain constant for the top range Edge, and they all deliver economical performance coupled with a close eye to their environmental emissions. Engines range from 1.25-litre to 1.4 and 1.6 in petrol offerings, and there is a 1.4DCI 70PS DPF Stage V that is fine for the fuel conscious.
Safety features
The Ford Fiesta has a range of safety features that include dual stage airbags. These have crash sensitive inflation rates and are standard on all models of Fiesta. Some models do not have side airbags or curtain airbags as standard, so these would need to be added if required. Anti-brake locking systems are also optional on most of the models. However, deadlocks and immobilisers are standard on all the models, so there is a high level of security available.
Entertainment
As with any car, the level of entertainment options depends on the level of model that is bought. The Ford Fiesta has a great range of options that can include a powerful DVD function as well as excellent audio through various media formats. In car radio and CD function is standard and for additional aspects such as satellite navigation and Bluetooth connectivity, there are options for these types of technological inputs.
Each Ford Fiesta can be configured to the owner’s specifications and it offers a wide range of hi-tech options that will suit any budget.
