A blend of balance, comfort & control

Performance of the new Ford Kuga

The new Ford Kuga is a 4x4 made for driving on the tarmac. Its style is sporty, and was initially based on the Focus. Unlike other vehicles of this style, it has impressive handling and is a very comfortable drive. With emission and tax costs lower than most other cars of this particular style.

The 2.0 litre diesel comes with a six-speed manual gearbox, delivers 136 bhp and comes in either four- or two-wheel drive. Both versions perform equally well, going from 0-62 mph in ten seconds. The two-wheel drive can average 46 mpg and emits less CO2, which in turn makes it more efficient with a lower tax rate. The four-wheel drive averages 48 mpg. The petrol version contains a 2.5 litre turbocharged engine and delivers 200 bhp. The petrol model takes 8.2 seconds to get from 0-62 mph.

The Kuga's handling is impeccable. The car boasts excellent grip, precise steering and very little body roll. It also has an all-wheel drive system. This will allow the car to only send power to the rear wheels if the front wheels begin to slip. This feature makes the vehicle very easy to handle on uneven roads.

Comfort and practicality

The Ford Kuga boasts a soundproof cabin, which is able to drastically reduce the engine noise for a quieter ride. Comfort has also been taken into great consideration, with the driver's seat being very supportive and spacious. Air conditioning always comes as standard, whilst the sunroof is an optional extra.

As well as being comfortable, the Kuga is also very practical. It has a 360-litre boot, which can be accessed via the window if you only need to pop smaller bags into the boot. The seats can fold to create more room; however, the bases must also be folded up to create flat floor space. Another practical benefit is the three-pin power socket between the front seats. This is ideal for charging phones, or if the passenger would like to use a laptop whilst on the move.
