It’s been 50 years in the making and now the wait in nearly over for fans of the all American muscle car as the Ford Mustang heads to the UK for the first time. The iconic Mustang has saw nearly 2,000 orders been taken across the UK with the first deliveries expected in November.
The right–hand drive Mustangs have already begun to roll of the production line at the Flatrock Assembly Plant in Michigan, North America. The Mustang has been a favourite with American drivers since it was released there over 50 years ago. Now fans of the pony car will be able to see this striking vehicle in all its glory on UK roads by the end of this year.
The new Ford Mustang is available in fastback and convertible body styles and so far the fastrack is proving to be the most popular with 80% of UK customers choosing this variant. The 416PS 5.0-litre V8 engine is the most popular choice of engine, next to the more fuel-efficient 317PS 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine. When it comes to choosing colours for the Mustang the Race Red is leading the way with 23% of buyers choosing it, while Magnetic Silver and Shadow Black are joint second.
