New Ford Mondeo unleashed
12th January 2012
The new Ford Mondeo has been revealed at the Detroit Motor Show which took place earlier this month.
The extremely popular family car has been given a complete re-vamp for 2012, featuring a brand new Chassis, engine and body design. In fact all aspects of the new Ford Modeo are new and improved. The Mondeo will come in three different forms, saloon, hatch back and estate.
The car will feature new lane-keeping technology, cruise control, and some impressive hands-free auto parking. Inside the car you will be able to use Fords new SYNC technology which was developed by Microsoft. This allows you to stream music to your cars speakers via your phone, as well as giving the driver Bluetooth and internet access. It will also make use of the latest driver assistance technology such as censors, radars and cameras and feature the most up to date entertainment system to keep the family happy whilst you enjoy your drive.
The size of the car remains more or less the same as older models, however it is slightly lower, giving it a much sleeker profile. The body work looks extremely smooth and the new grille and headlight arrangement seem to be inspired by the Evos concept.
Not only will there be 1.6 and 2.0 litre petrol and diesel engine versions available, but for the first time Ford will be making hybrid and hybrid plug in versions of the Mondeo as well.
It looks like the Ford Mondeo is set to re-ignite interest in the family car market and completely modernise the family saloon. Here at Lookers Ford we can’t wait to see the new Ford Mondeo with our own eyes.
