East and Africa

In one of the most ambitious pushes ever, Ford has announced its intention to launch at least 25 new vehicles across its Africa and Middle East markets. All of the models will arrive by the end of 2016.

The proportion of the population in these areas within the legal driving age is expected to boom by 31 percent from now until 2023. This sudden rise will mean a potential market for Ford of 1.7 billion people – something that the brand is naturally moving fast to capitalise on.

Some of the Ford models making their way to the regions include the Fusion, Focus and the new Mustang. All three will be available in 2015. The manufacturer has already seen success with new vehicles, enjoying a significant increase in market share for South Africa following the launches of five cars during 2013.

Both the Focus and Fusion are already very popular vehicles with UK motorists, and each car has won a substantial number of awards. These compact hatchbacks are expected to do particularly well in the Middle East. The Mustang is launching here in deliberately limited numbers, and the first 500 models allocated sold out in just minutes.
