The upcoming facelifted version of the Honda Civic is being prepared for its official debut at the Paris Motor Show, which will take place in October 2014. This facelift comes two-and-a-half years after the vehicle's initial release, and has been designed with the aim of improving the Honda Civic's sales in the European market.

A prototype of the new Honda Civic was spotted during testing in the UK, from which it can be seen that the vehicle nose has undergone a dramatic redesign. The new Civic facelift is expected to inherit a similar design to Honda's upcoming Civic Type-R, through features such as the front bumper. It is also likely that Honda will produce a more sports-orientated version of the Civic to complete the range.

It has been reported that the Honda Civic facelift may share the same engine capabilities as the Civic Type-R. A new 2.0-litre engine turbo charged engine is currently in development by Honda, and is said to be able to produce over 270bhp.
