The New Honda Fit
12th December 2011
The Honda Jazz was first introduced to the car market over a decade ago now, and it was one of the first to be classed as a supermini-MPV. Honda has now announced that they will be releasing an electric version of the car in Japan and America at some point next year. The new electric version of the Jazz will be called the ‘Fit’ and will come equipped with all the latest technology.
The Honda Fit will be powered by a lithium-ion battery back which is fitted under the floor of the car, and it holds a capacity of 20 kilowatt-hours. On the inside of the car you will find three buttons that drivers of the Honda CR-Z will be familiar with, which allow you to choose the driving mode you require, Sport, Econ or Normal.
The electric charge should last for up to 76 miles when combining city and motorway driving, or 123 miles when just driving around town. The battery itself will only take around 3 hours to charge.
If you already own a used Honda Jazz and you’re thinking of getting a new car, than the new ‘Fit’ would be a perfect replacement. It’s still unclear whether or not the car will be released in to the UK market, but we certainly hope to have it on our forecourts at some point in the future.
