Jaguar Sports Academy Ambassador Barry McGuigan to Mentor Patrick McCann

The Special Recognition Award winner Patrick McCann will be given one-to-one mentoring by Jaguar Academy of Sport Ambassador and boxing star Barry McGuigan. The mentoring will help Patrick to achieve his goals by developing his talent.
The winner, Patrick is 15 years old and from Market Harborough, he is a dedicated boxer who has been taking part since he was 10, training six times a week to achieve his ultimate goal and make it to the top in the boxing world.
Patrick has been recognised as a Rising Star this year by making the most of his Jaguar Mentoring and Education Programme and attending all workshops. The Jaguar Academy of Sport has given Patrick many advantages, such as organising a four-week strength and conditioning programme at Loughborough University, to help him achieve his dream of competing at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
Patrick has many achievements, such as winning the 2011 National Schoolboy Championships (66kg), captained England and won a gold medal at the 2011 Great Britain Junior Championships (66kg), and the 2011 Schools Boxer of the Year Award by Amateur Boxing Association of England.
Jaguar Academy of Sport Ambassador, Barry McGuigan retired boxing in 1989 and was welcomed to the World Boxing Hall of Fame in 2000 and International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2005. His commitment to inspiring the next generation of British sporting talent is perfect for mentoring Patrick.

The Jaguar Academy of Sport tries to inspire the British sporting talent by giving them a Bursary Fund and unique Mentoring and Education Programme through workshops and talent days.
