Jeep gives Farnborough Air Show attendees a taste of off-roading

28th July 2014

Jeep 4x4s.jpgJeep was in attendance at this year’s Farnborough Air Show (July 14-20, 2014) to give visitors an added thrill as they observed various impressive aircraft displays.

The manufacturer brought with it an experiential hub, which included a virtual reality off-road experience - as well as the chance to tackle a real-world all-terrain track in the Cherokee.

The focal point of the Jeep area was a large tepee which marked the start of the off-road track. Here, visitors with a valid UK driving licence had the opportunity to tackle an obstacle course comprising steep climbs, ramps, axle twists, logs and loose terrain behind the wheel of the impressive Cherokee. The vehicle is among the most capable 4x4s on the market, as it has the power and robustness to tackle the toughest conditions with ease yet remain refined and comfortable for everyday motoring.

The Farnborough test track follows a similar experience, organised as part of the brand’s Jeep Cherokee Territory European Tour, held in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park earlier in July 2014.

For those without a driver’s licence at the Farnborough Air Show, an Oculus Rift headset was provided. This innovative technology enabled visitors to sample the Jeep experience in 3D virtual reality without climbing behind the wheel.
