New Land Rover Defender

With its renowned aptitude in tough environments, the strong 2.4 litre diesel engine of the new Land Rover Defender has been built to comply with modern emissions legislation, without compromising on performance. A combination of light-weight aluminium and high strength steel maximises efficiency and resists corrosion.
The engine options for the Land Rover Defender are many and various. There are two distinct generations of the vehicle; the first has both 2.25 litre inline-four petrol and diesel options. The former produces 75bhp, while the latter produces 62bhp. The 2.5 litre versions of the first generation Land Rover Defender engines are also all inline four cylinder motors. The diesel version produces 68bhp, the petrol version 83bhp and the turbo diesel 85bhp. A pair of V8 options is also available in the first generation range of Land Rover Defender.
The engine options for the Land Rover Defender’s second generation are similarly numerous. Four turbo diesels are offered, three of which are 2.5 litre and the other a 2.4 litre. Power outputs for the four turbo diesels are 107bhp, 111bhp and two of 122bhp. There is also a 3.9 litre V8 in the second generation of the Land Rover Defender, which is rated at 182bhp.
The Land Rover Defender has a number of safety options fitted as standard, including a four-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS). This is an important feature for a vehicle such as the Land Rover Defender, which is designed for off-roading in addition to normal on-road driving. Electronic traction control (ETC), which senses and rectifies loss of traction, is another important safety feature. A rollover protection cage is standard on most models of the Land Rover Defender.
With its simple shape, the exterior of the Land Rover Defender is a combination of classic and modern, though there are several different body designs available.
For the first generation of this vehicle, three door and five door models are available, all with an opening rear door. A two-door pickup is also offered, while a high capacity pickup design, with two doors, is yet another option. A three-door van rounds out the style options for the Land Rover Defender’s first generation.
Three and five door models are also offered in the second generation, as is a two-door single cab pickup style. New designs for the second generation include a four-door double cab pickup. A two-door hardtop completes the style options offered for the second generation of the Land Rover Defender.
The colours that this vehicle is available in are Fuji White, Keswick Green, Tamar Blue, Aintree Green, Baltic Blue, Firenze Red, Indus Silver, Orkney Grey and Santorini Black. The colour options available differ, depending on the model.
