Jaguar Land Rover have offered some much needed good news to the UK economy with the announcement that they have created 1,000 new jobs at their West Midlands plant, in order to bolster their production output levels.
Land Rover are expecting thousands of job applications for the newly created production staff roles, looking for production operators and trades people, as the company strive to make good use of the multibillion pound investment recently made by new owners Tata, and the new staff are likely to work on a variety of new projects including the creation of a new Range Rover car.
Jaguar Land Rover currently employs around 20,000 workers at their different plants across the UK, and the manufacturer has also recently announced the creation of 750 new jobs at their factory near Wolverhampton.
The news was perhaps best summed up by Paul Everitt, Chief executive of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, who stated: "The creation of 1,000 new jobs at Jaguar Land Rover's Solihull plant is excellent news for UK automotive and demonstrates the commitment of global investors to the UK, drawing on the high level of skills held by the workforce here."
Jaguar Land Rover has a five year expansion plan; looking to deliver “40 significant product actions over the next five years” so you can expect to see a lot of Land Rover news in the coming months.
