New Land Rover Defender Concept Car
24th January 2012

The new Land Rover Defender Concept 100 and the Defender Concept 100 Sport were recently given their first outing in India at the New Delhi Auto Show.
The concept design shows the direction in which Land Rover could be heading with the new Defender, revolutionising it for the 21st century.
The new Defender concept certainly captures the rugged and adventurous appeal of the original but it has been updated and given a more modern feel.
The new Land Rover Defender Concept cars feature Land Rovers latest Terrain Response System, which automatically optimises the car for any driving conditions without the driver having to preselect any options. There will also be a unique new feature called the Terrain-I, which will create a map of topography and displays this as a 3D image at the front of the car, it has the ability to identify any potential hazards on your route and can suggest alternatives. The Terrain-I will work in both off-road environments as well as urban and will alert the driver of nearby pedestrians as well as possible obstructions.
There will also be a new ‘Wade Aid’ system, which has sensors attached to the bumpers and side mirrors that gauge the water depth when driving in off-road conditions. Depending on the water level the ‘wade aid’ system will automatically close any vents and select a lower gear to advise the safest speed when driving in such conditions.
At Lookers Land Rover we are really excited by the idea of the new Defender Concept 100 and the technologies that will be accompanying it. Keep checking back at Lookers Land Rover new to find out more information as and when we hear it.
