New Lexus LF-LC Sports Coupe Concept Car Launched

25th January 2012

The New Lexus Hybrid concept car was recently launched. It has a sleek and futuristic design and also is extremely high-tech on the inside also. It uses green technology and features Advanced Lexus Hybrid Drive, which delivers the driving performance and fuel efficiency that Lexus drivers now demand.

New Lexus HybridIt is setup in a 2+2 coupe design and is extremely luxurious both inside and out.

When looking at the car design itself you can see a new sculpted spindle grill which Lexus feels is their symbol of change. Framed by a deep aluminium surround, the mesh pattern of the spindle grille takes on a 3D form, while functional air intakes in the bottom corners of the grille demonstrate a fusion of style and functionality.

The daytime running lights are now L-shaped and the vertical fog lamps have a fading dot matrix pattern that suggests movement. In profile the LF-LC has a powerful silhouette while overall the lines of the vehicle emphasise direction and motion.

The concept car’s glass roof has a lightweight, cantilevered pillar with a glass-to-glass juncture inspired by modern architecture. The kick-up window graphic and polished aluminium trim are new distinctive additions. The greenhouse design improves visibility for the driver as well as adding to the sleek lines of the car.

The dynamic cabin lines are carried through to the rear deck, integrating the spindle grille theme to echo the front of the vehicle and creating a sense of width. The tail lamps use inner lighting to give a strong sense of depth and the rear fog lamps repeat the fading dot matrix pattern of those at the front. The integrated tail and fog lamps repeat the “L” shape and lead the eye down to the quad exhaust design.

When looking at the interior of the New Lexus LF-LC there is a real emphasis on soft textures and organic shapes which contrast with the exterior. The driver’s side is designed to feel both secure and open. Featuring twin 12.3 inch LCD screens that function as the command centre, these screens provide information and navigation display. The new Lexus LF-LC also has touchscreen technology which powers items like windows, mirrors, personal entertainment settings and seat adjustments; it even has a pop up touchscreen keyboard for more difficult entries. Throughout the Lexus they have used both smooth leather and suede, with brushed metal trim with wood accents which really adds to the luxurious feel of the car.

The New Lexus really does showcase Lexus’s emphasis on “drive-focused vehicles” and is a great car to drive and also leads the way in future design.
