Mercedes-Benz Escape The Map
15th November 2011
Mercedes-Benz is appealing to a younger audience with a new online and TV campaign. It runs until 11/12/11 and features a girl called Marie in a Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Coupe trapped in a 3D world of Google Street View in Tokyo.
The online film, which can be found on www.escapethemap.co.uk gets the viewers to help Marie escape by participating in a number of interactive challenges. If she is not helped her face will remain blurred on Street View.
The end of the film finishes with the viewer entering their telephone number into Marie’s mobile; they will then have a phone call from Marie thanking them and they will be entered into a competition to win a Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
The UK Marketing Director at Mercedes-Benz, David George stated, “Escape The Map’ is a bold brand-sharpener- it presents Mercedes-Benz as a vibrant, fresh, aspirational premium brand- and shows people a new side to one of the most prestigious companies in the world.”
The campaign can be followed online on Twitter @girlinmap where Marie is asking the Twitter users to help her escape the map. Lookers Mercedes-Benz is supporting the campaign by promoting it on Lookers Facebook and Twitter pages. ‘The Escape the Map’ campaign will also be present in Mercedes-Benz showrooms, outdoor advertising and augmented reality Blippar application.
