Mercedes-Benz World celebrates five years
11th November 2011

Mercedes-Benz World was opened on the 26th of October 2006 by Dr Dieter Zetsche, chairman of the Board of Management Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz cars and recently celebrated its five year anniversary.
Since its opening, Mercedes-Benz World has become one of the UK’s premier free attractions, with 1.5 million visitors flocking to Weybridge to see it. The attraction has also held 140,000 conference and events guests since its opening in 2006, and 90,000 children have taken to the road for the first time in a Mercedes-Benz car thanks to such attractions as ‘Little Learners’ which allows a child to drive a miniature Mercedes-Benz SLK around a specially designed indoor road course.
The exciting experience centre hosts a range of attractions, including adrenaline filled driving events, interactive displays, a Mercedes-Benz cinema and many motor sport exhibits. There have also been very special appearances from musicians such as Ellie Goulding and even the legendary Elton John.
Of all the attractions, perhaps the most popular are the purpose built handling circuits and skid pans, which allow you to push the latest Mercedes AMG performance cars, such as the Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG, to their limits. The skid facilities make for an incredible experience allowing you to perfect your drifting skills.
Mercedes-Benz Commercial Operations Director, Andrew Mallery stated: “The achievements so far have introduced 1.5 million people to Mercedes-Benz in a unique way, and brought an experiential aspect to the impressive heritage and exciting future. We’re looking forward to the next five years and beyond with many more exciting developments that will start to take shape in the next few months to provide more for our visitors to explore and discover.”
