Among the best in its class, the Pro Cee'd's evolution covers engine enhancements, superior styling and more kit than its cousin. As you'd expect from Kia the pricing is competitive, and as most Pro Cee'ds come with a lengthy warranty you're getting good piece of mind thrown in to help seal the deal.
The experience
It isn't just a rehashed Cee'd. The new Kia Pro Cee'd features a completely redesigned chassis with revised front grille and sporty steel exhaust at the rear. It may be inexpensive, but the Pro Cee'd's level of fittings are impressive, with alloy wheels and air conditioning fitted as standard across the range. Inside the cabin there are new design features including slick electric windows on all models and stainless steel door sills on mid to high end trims. The upgraded interior feels much more high end than other Kia offerings.
The performance
Four engines are offered in total, two petrol and two diesel, with a high output option available with the 1.6 litre. Entry level engines are more than adequate on both types. At 11.4 seconds the 1.4 litre petrol is only one second behind the next level 1.6 litre in the 0 to 62mph dash. And with 104bhp at 6200rpm, it's more than up to the job of powering the Pro Cee'd. Diesel options include a punchy 2.0 litre and a 1.6 litre, which delivers a top speed of 117mph and gets to 62mph in under 12 seconds.
The technology
The New Kia Pro Cee'd is available in three trim levels; 2, 3 and Sport. Even entry level models contain a good level of kit, with alloys, MP3 compatible stereo, electrically adjustable heated door mirrors and front fog lamps all thrown in. Range topping Sport variants are brilliantly equipped, with everything from ESP, luxurious leather trim and privacy glass. This doesn't feel like budget motoring.
