An urban SUV fused with a nifty hatchback, the Nissan Qashqai tears up the rulebook and stands out amongst its more middle of the road counterparts.
The Nissan Qashqai is a dynamic family car with high equipment levels and distinctively different design features. When more and more cars are starting to look the same, the Nissan Qashqai stands out as one that dares to be different.
The experience
The stance is pure MPV, with excellent road presence and head turning styling. Perfect for use in the urban jungle, there's also all mode 4x4 for when the going gets tough on more demanding terrains. Despite the rugged exterior the cabin is a haven of peace and quiet with very little wind or engine noise to disturb you. The Qashqai is a cut above other family cars in terms of quality and finish. Soft touch accessories and high spec instruments are logically placed in the well laid out cockpit and the seats are superbly comfortable and supportive.
The performance
The entry level petrol option is a 1.6 litre with 113bhp that turns a respectable 34mpg and produces 159g/km of CO2. That's followed by a punchier 1.5 litre turbodiesel with 104bhp and greater power reserves and a brilliant 47mpg fuel economy. The range topping units are a 2.0 litre petrol with 138bhp that completes the 0 - 62mph sprint in ten seconds and a 2.0 litre diesel with 148bhp.
The technology
Nissan equip the Qashqai with a generous amount of kit. Even entry level Visia models come with air conditioning, alloy wheels, all electric windows and Bluetooth connectivity. Upgrade to Acenta trim to add climate control, a CD autochanger, parking sensors and cruise control.
