Geneva International Motor Show 2017

It’s March, which is very exciting in the automotive world for two main reasons: new car registration plates and just the biggest event in the European car calendar - the Geneva International Motor Show. We take a look at all the new metal making its world debut from 9 - 19 March.

Volvo XC60

The wait is over. Volvo takes the SUV game up a notch with its world debut of the much-anticipated new XC60. Coming nine years after its predecessor, which claimed the title for the best-selling premium mid-sized SUV in Europe, the all-new premium SUV has a lot to live up to. Has it got what it takes? One of the safest cars ever made, packed with top-of-the-range technology, award-winning T8 Twin Engine petrol plug-in hybrid and accelerates from 0-62 mph in just 5.3 seconds. Need we say more?

Vauxhall Insignia ​

Its predecessor won European Car of the Year in 2009 and sold over 25,000 models in the UK last year. Today, the all-new Insignia Grand Sport and Sports Tourer are debuted to the world and have some serious show-stopping features. Completely new vehicle design, more spacious interior adds to a more athletic appearance and an improved road stance. Moving inside, you can see it’s fully-loaded with the latest technology to make it safer, more relaxing and more comfortable than ever before. Range Rover Velar

Unveiled at an exclusive live launch on 1st March at London’s design museum, the fourth Range Rover starts a new chapter in the Jaguar Land Rover story. Staying true to its British roots, the new model will be built exclusively in the UK and will sit between the Range Rover Evoque and Range Rover Sport. Honda Civic Type R

Launching this summer, the all-new Civic Type R has just made its debut at the show. What makes this new model different from its predecessor? Well, the 2.0-litre VTEC TURBO has been optimised and refined and now produces 320 PS with peak torque of 400Nm. Smoother and more precise, the new Type R is also lighter and more rigid. Audi RS 5 Coupe 

Taking charge at Geneva, ahead of the A5 family and the epitome of the Audi Sport, cast your eyes on the new lighter faster Audi RS 5 Coupe. It’s able to achieve 0-62mph in just 3.9 seconds – more than have a second quicker than its predecessor. If that’s not enough to make you say “Woooaahh” maybe its all new 2.9 TFSI with 450PS and 600Nm of torque from 1,900 – 5,000rpm will.
