Lookers Open New Land Rover Showroom in Battersea

Lookers delivers a first with the opening of a new Land Rover showroom in Battersea. The multi-million pound facility – which has created 30 jobs – is a technology lover's dream.

The state of the art building is the only one of its kind to be built in the UK and will be home to 24 of the latest Land Rover designs, including the Land Rover Sport – due for release in 2015.

Gordon Haining, Land Rover franchise director at Lookers, said: "Our significant investment in this stunning, iconic showroom will allow us and Land Rover to maintain our position as the leading lifestyle marque in London and the Home Counties from this strategically-positioned Battersea base."

This latest car retail facility is the most modern and 'green' yet within the Lookers portfolio, incorporating the very latest cloud technology which will allow staff to more freely interact with customers. This marriage of technology with a strong physical presence positions the company as an automotive industry trailblazer.

Included within the footprint on Battersea Rd is a new purpose-built lounge area complete with free WiFi, PlayStation consoles and games.

On site will be 70 staff in sales and service roles, almost double the headcount based at the previous local base. The showroom, which is 40 per cent larger than before offers all who visit a sleek, modern and contemporary interior. This is complemented with a black rain screen cladding and a structural glass exterior – a guaranteed focal point only metres from the River Thames.
