The black-tie event, held in Leeds on October 15th, was set in the stunning £350-million waterfront development Clarence Dock and was hosted by none other than BBC’s Louise Minchin.
Headline speakers on the night included some very well-known faces including racing legend Nigel Mansell CBE and motivational guru Simon Weston. From keynote financial speakers Spencer Halil, Adrian Daly and Georg Bauer, the 750 delegates enjoyed up to the minute expert analysis on many of the industry’s key challenges and opportunities.
Indeed a very well-known face from Lookers was also in attendance. Commercial Director Paul Bentley was on hand to collect the ‘Customer Retention Award’ and ‘POS (Point of Sale) Additional Product Award’.
Both accolades were judged on a set of very strict criteria including the ability to demonstrate a structured approach to F&I (Finance & Insurance) as well as achieving profitability through the sale of aftersales products in a compliant manner.
What makes this doubly impressive is that Lookers was the only business to win two awards on the night. There were 13 categories in total which included awards for ‘Business Manager of the Year’, ‘Dealer of the Year’ and ‘Newcomer of the Year’.
Speaking of the honour, Paul said: ““I am incredibly proud to accept these awards on behalf of Lookers. To be recognised for not just one but two awards is a fantastic achievement for our whole dealer network and the F&I development team. I would like to thank each and every one of them for their hard work and commitment and congratulate them on this recognition”
All profits from the Conference go towards the F&I Foundation which is dedicated to offering financial support to promising young athletes. In 2014 they were proud to sponsor Jess Learmouth – an elite triathlete – and Danny Langdon, a member of the England short mat bowls team.
