What Car Editor Jim Holder said of the nominations: "Our panel of experts has a job on its hands to choose the best car in each category and then the overall What Car? Car of the Year for 2015, which has to be exceptional. "A welcome fact about our list of contenders is that one in eight of them are built right here in the UK – a reality the manufacturing sector should be very proud of."
