The all-new Nissan X-Trail has secured a maximum Euro NCAP rating of 5 stars. It achieved such a high score through the following safety features:
Forward Emergency Braking:
By using a radar system fitted to the front of the X-Trail, if the gap to the vehicle in front is reducing, the driver will receive an audible warning, then the brakes will be applied partially and in the event of an emergency, the brakes will be applied harder.
Driver Attention Alert:
Once the X-Trail has learned your driving style, it will constantly monitor driver inputs and should there be erratic steering, the car will display a message in the dashboard indicating a break is needed. With one in five accidents caused by driver fatigue, this is an essential feature.
Traffic Sign Recognition:
This system is your extra pair of eyes on the road – it monitors speed limit signs and displays this information inside the vehicle.
Lane Departure Warning:
If your X-Trail starts to drift from its lane, the X-Trail's Lane Departure Warning system will display a discreet warning light in the door mirror, and if the drifting continues, the warning light will flash and an audible warning is sounded.
Blind Spot Warning:
The Around View Monitor detects objects in the blind spot and if an object is detected, a warning light on the door mirror flashes and an audible warning is sounded.
Moving Object Detection:
This system offers a 'bird's eye view' of the parking area to bring an extra level of protection. The 180 degree camera offers an unparalleled field of vision at the back of the car, with images displayed via the NissanConnect screen.
High Beam Assist:
To ensure that you have the best illumination at any given moment, the High Beam Assist is able to switch between low and high beam depending on whether the system detects oncoming or distant traffic.
