Nissan scoops two Auto Express awards for 2014

17th July 2014

At this year's Auto Express Awards, Nissan has claimed two of the most coveted prized. The Qashqai has been named as the Best Crossover, and the innovative new Nissan Safety Shield received the Safety Award.

The all-new Nissan Qashqai is built in the UK and arrives with a host of intelligent features and technologies. Auto Express named the Qashqai 1.5 dCi Acenta Premium as their favourite, and this version of the crossover is the most efficient in the range at 74.3mpg combined and only 99g/km in CO2 emissions.

Judges also praised the vehicle's build and design quality, agreeing that it sets “a new standard of refinement, quality, practicality and, of course, safety in the crossover sector." As Steve Fowler, Editor-in-Chief at Auto Express, stated at the awards ceremony: "The new Qashqai is an incredibly impressive car, taking all the best bits of the original model, but adding a new level of sheen to everything from the comfort to the quality."

As for the Nissan Safety Shield, it comprises a package of forward-thinking and protective systems for all-round security and peace of mind. The panel has been impressed by how comprehensive Safety Shield is - Traffic Sign Recognition, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Moving Object Detection, High Beam Assist and more are all included.

Safety Shield is included with the all-new Qashqai and currently available with the X-Trail, Juke and Note.
