The Nissan LEAF launches in Mexico

11th June 2014

This month (June 2014), Nissan will be the first manufacturer to provide a 100 percent electric vehicle to the whole of Mexico by launching the LEAF in the country. Other models are available on a much smaller scale, and not to the entire potential market.

Globally the LEAF is an established driver favourite and award winner, helping motorists on multiple continents to keep their vehicle ownership and running costs lower. Nissan is known as one of the leading manufacturers for electric motoring developments, and will back the introduction of a new charging infrastructure in Mexico.

The version of the car arriving at Mexican showrooms will have some unique features particular to the market. It's expected to include the Around View Monitor with strategically-placed cameras, leather upholstery, a seven-inch touchscreen, 'B Mode driving' throttle power renewal and a fast charging port.

The LEAF will initially arrive at selected authorised Nissan dealerships in Mexico City, where eight new charging zones are planned to support owners. It will eventually be available at many locations across the country.

Drivers here in the UK can select the new Nissan LEAF now, and it also makes regular appearances within our tested and Approved Used car selection. Get in touch with Lookers Nissan – enquire online, call or visit us in Chester today.
