Peugeot presents the new 508

10th September 2014

An extensive introduction to the next-generation Peugeot 508 has appeared on the manufacturer's website. The model returns with a refreshed exterior and a host of new technologies and engines.

Across the three body styles – Saloon, SW and RXH – the 508 receives a new front grille design and more horizontal bonnet alignment which previews the look of future Peugeot cars. Each vehicle feels more upright and confident, with smart style that appeals to private and business drivers.

Peugeot Open & Go Keyless Entry and Start will provide quick and simple accessibility. Cabin layouts are set to be similarly rearranged and finished with attractive premium touches. One of the most highly-anticipated additions to the interior is a touchscreen infotainment system. The bundle of connectivity, navigation, audio and air con functions is placed closer to the driver. It will also raise the 508's already impressive safety profile by integrating blind spot sensors and a reversing camera.

Engines arriving with the vehicle range meet stricter upcoming EURO VI requirements for low CO2 emissions. The 2.0-litre BlueHDi diesel, for example, will emit just 109g/km. The Hybrid4 diesel-electric version of the RXH will continue to be available, as will a number of petrol and diesel options from the previous 508 generation.

An official debut for the 508 models is expected during the Paris Motor Show in October.
