Peugeot Sport gets behind a promising new rally driver

28th August 2014

To continue its growing success and reputation in racing, Peugeot Sport is supporting a young driver in pursuing his rally career dreams.

Chris Ingram is already a well-known name in motorsports circles, with considerable successes already under his belt. He's won the 'Colin McRae European Rally Championship Flat Out' trophy – the youngest driver ever to do so – and was the first rally driver to be named as MSA Young Driver of the Year.

Both Peugeot Sport and Peugeot Financial Services are sponsoring Ingram and supporting his next moves. He will enter the remaining stages of the 2014 FIA ERC Junior Championship as the driver of a high-performance Peugeot 208 R2. Other Peugeot drivers have already claimed podium positions and race wins with the vehicle.

Built to the 'R2' category specification outlined by the ERC, the 208 R2 is enthusiastic, streamlined and confident. It sports a reinforced shell and shorter overhangs for added dynamism, and has even been produced in precisely-tuned 'asphalt' and 'gravel' variations. All 208 R2 vehicles are fitted with a 185bhp 1.6-litre naturally aspirated engine which delivers intense, reliable power.

It's possible to order both the original Peugeot 208 and a pre-built version of the R2 model. To learn more and test drive a new Peugeot car, speak with the Lookers team at either of our dealerships in Newport and Cardiff.
