The limited-edition Peugeot 208 GTi anniversary edition wows Goodwood

30th June 2014

Peugeot has announced the release of its 30th Anniversary Limited Edition 208 GTi in November 2014.

Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the original 205 GTi's appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the manufacturer has revised its classic model as a radical new-generation GTi.

The 208 GTi Hatchback also celebrates a hugely successful year since its first commercial release, confirming Peugeot's high-performance credentials in producing sports cars.

Delivering a symbolic total power level of 208bhp, Peugeot's special edition new Euro 6 1.6-litre engine boasts 300Nm of torque, and is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox for a true racing feel.

Maxime Picat, Peugeot Brand CEO commented: “As with any project of this type, there was a convergence of ideas and needs. Following on from the RCZ R, Peugeot Sport proposed that the Brand make a more radical version of the 208 GTi. At the same time the Brand thought about how best to celebrate 30 years of the Peugeot GTi in 2014."
