The all-electric Renault ZOE’s capabilities will be demonstrated through a 2,000-mile tour of the UK, undertaken by charging station supplier Pod Point with sponsorship from the French carmaker.
The journey will begin in London on June 12 before the ZOE visits 15 towns and cities across the nation during a 17-day tour, which will take the model from John O’Groats to Land’s End.
The marathon drive aims to highlight precisely what electric vehicles (EVs) are able to achieve, and to show motorists how extensive charging infrastructure is across the UK. During the tour, the ZOE will stop to charge at various locations including residential addresses, gyms, supermarkets and petrol stations, where charging points are increasing in numbers.
Today’s EVs retain the practicality of a traditional combustion powered vehicle but offer zero emissions and lower running costs. The compact ZOE is among the leaders in the growing class, as it combines all the benefits of electric power with a stylish design and the latest technology inside the cabin. A class-leading range of over 120 miles is possible, and Renault includes its ‘Range Optimiser’ system as standard with all trim grades.
