SEAT Leon scoops multiple Auto Express awards

26th August 2014

SEAT has once again underlined the strength of its Leon family with yet more awards bestowed on the versatile model. Three variations came out on top at this year's Auto Express New Car Awards, proving the appeal of the line-up.

The Leon ST scooped the Estate of the Year accolade, with judges singling it out for “composed and confidence-inspiring handling and an interior that's smartly designed and solidly finished". “It's so good you won't want to pack light again", they conclude.

The five-door Leon hatchback was awarded Small Family Car of the Year, as its spacious cabin delivers ample room for passengers and luggage, while safety is a key capability of the car. “Put simply, the excellent Leon is a car you can buy with your heart and your head", stated the judges.

The most rapid Leon to date – the SC Cupra 280 – achieved Hot Hatch of the Year, and those fortunate enough to experience the potent compact would no doubt agree. The powerful vehicle has the muscle to sprint from 0-60mph in well under six seconds, yet remains practical to satisfy during everyday commutes. “Fast, fun, frugal and family friendly, it's a real hit", was the verdict.

The SEAT Leon has become a firm favourite among family motorists who demand more from their vehicle, and these latest awards highlight the model's enduring popularity. The ST, hatchback, Cupra 280 and all other latest-generation cars can be test driven with Lookers SEAT in Manchester and Stockport.
