Unveiled: the SEAT Leon X-PERIENCE

23rd June 2014

SEAT has announced yet another incarnation of the popular, award-winning Leon: this time a purposeful X-PERIENCE crossover.

It has a more rugged look than its predecessors, with added cladding to the exterior and a higher ground clearance. The overall style and design of the new model is heavily based on the Leon ST, sporting even more aluminium and chrome accents and offering the choice of 17-inch or 18-inch alloys.

On the inside, the bright orange details are an individual touch to the cabin, and drivers can select optional leather or Alcantara for the upholstery. The newest model maintains the generous interior space that the Leon range is renowned for, offering as much as 1,470 litres of boot volume with the rear seats folded flat.

The Leon X-PERIENCE runs in permanent all-wheel drive, with a new range of powerful petrol and diesel engines available. All of them will incorporate stop-start fuel-saving technology and brake energy regeneration systems as standard. With the 2.0-litre diesel at 148bhp and a six-speed manual gearbox, SEAT is claiming that the crossover is capable of as much as 57.6mpg combined.

Pricing has yet to be confirmed by SEAT, and the launch of the Leon X-PERIENCE is scheduled for this autumn.
