Brakes & Brake Fluid

Brakes are arguably the most important safety features of your vehicle. It is therefore essential that they are correctly maintained, and any parts of the braking system are replaced when necessary.

Both the discs and pads of a brake must be able to withstand high pressures and temperatures to function correctly. As they wear, the stopping distance of your vehicle will increase. It is therefore essential that they are checked on a regular basis.

Brake Fluid

Brake pads & discs are not the only components of your vehicles braking system that need regular maintenance and servicing. Brake fluid is also essential for slowing down your vehicle.

Brake fluid absorbs moisture, and when coupled with heat and not properly maintained, this may lead to what is known as a vapour lock. This will result in a complete failure of your brakes.

It is essential that your vehicle has regular brake fluid tests and flushes to ensure that this does not happen. To get your brake fluid tested and flushed if necessary, and therefore restore your vehicle to the manufacturers safety standards, please contact your local Lookers dealership, or book online using our MyLookers online booking portal.
