The monthly global sales figures released by ŠKODA for May 2014 show a record number of new car registrations for that month. It marks a ninth consecutive month of sales increases for the manufacturer.

Here in the UK, deliveries of new ŠKODA cars have rapidly risen, with a 29 percent year-on-year improvement. Growing popularity in Europe has been vital to the manufacturer’s recent successes.

The best-selling model in the range is the Octavia hatchback, which individually claims an annual sales increase of 12 percent. The newest version of the model arrived in showrooms in October 2013 and has already been incredibly successful. New registrations of the Yeti are up by 26 percent – and an incredible boost for the Rapid has seen sales boom by 159 percent.

ŠKODA intends to release a new or updated model every six months (on average) in the coming years, in a bid to boost sales to one million in a single year and 1.5 million by 2018. The manufacturer is making headway in China, and is supported by the ambition of umbrella company Volkswagen Group.
