New ŠKODA Fabia's interior seen for first time
28th August 2014
ŠKODA has released the first image showing the interior of its incoming new Fabia, which builds upon its predecessor superbly.
The Czech carmaker is rightly excited about the new supermini, and it's clear to see why. The next-generation Fabia will be the most spacious yet, and not just for passengers. The boot boasts class-leading capacity of 330-litres, and despite the hatchback's length shrinking by 8mm, an extra 8mm is enjoyed at the front of cabin, alongside 21mm more elbow room. An efficient, box-shaped design contributes to the boost in interior space, and attention has also been paid to the luggage area. The boot opening is now 20cm wider than before, and the loading sill has also been lowered.
From the cockpit, control of a variety of new functions is simple. There's ŠKODA's MirrorLink system which connects user's smartphones with the touchscreen infotainment system via USB or Bluetooth, allowing access to mobile apps, sat nav and more. Higher spec models also get a start/stop engine button located on the steering column where the ignition barrel is found on the entry-level example.
Practicality is also high, as a hi-vis jacket storage bin is found in the driver's door, an ice scraper integrates with the fuel filler cap and all doors have ample space to hold bottles. With the top end Fabia, buyers benefit from heated seats, climate control and automatic lights.
The new Fabia will go on sale in early 2015, and you can place your order with Lookers in Guildford, Stockport and Manchester as soon as it arrives.
