Japanese car manufactures Mazda were founded in Hiroshima in 1920 and at the time were known under the name Tokyo Cork Kogyo.Co Ltd, before the name was changed to Mazda in 1984. After the factory was destroyed by the bombings of WW2, the owners set about rebuilding it from scratch, and today they still have their headquarters in Hiroshima. The first vehicle Mazda ever created was the Mazda-Go Type-DA a 3 wheel truck in 1931, their first passenger car was the beautiful R360 Coupe, in 1960. Mazda's goal is to create cars that are fun to drive, environmentally friendly and extremely safe.
