Vauxhall Astra VXR News
Soon to be revealed at the Geneva Show in March, the New Astra VXR promises to be the most powerful and fastest Vauxhall Astra ever. The New VXR will be equipped with a 2.0 litre turbocharged direct injection petrol engine. It will provide a considerable amount of torque at 295lb/feet and it will reach a maximum speed of 155mph and can go from zero to 62mph in less than 6 seconds.
The New Vauxhall Astra VXR will borrow the chassis from the Astra GTC but with some modifications to handle its newly added strength. These include a specially developed mechanical limited slip differential between the front wheels that will send power straight to the individual wheels while negotiating corners. It will also incorporate the Astra GTC High Performance Struts to offer better handling and brakes developed by motorsport giant Brembo. That, however, is not all. The new VXR gets Vauxhall’s adaptive chassis control system Flexiride that gives you two buttons to play with inside the car. This includes the ‘sport’ button and a VXR button. Both offer varied settings for dampers and throttle and steering control, giving the driver increased control over the car.
The VXR is not all about the engine and performance though as the customized performance seats carry an embossed logo for a classy appearance. The exterior has also been reworked with changes to the specially sculpted front and rear bumpers, new side skirts, twin exhausts and an aerodynamic roof spoiler.
