New Volkswagen Beetle
2nd February 2012
The Volkswagen Beetle is a one of the most influential and popular cars in automotive industry, VW produced the first generation in 1938.

Initially, the New Volkswagen Beetle will be offered with a choice of just two petrol engines, with three more power units to follow – including two diesel options.
The New Beetle looks solid, sporty and a bit more modern. Stronger lines, more aggressive wheel arches and a sharper roofline on the windshield and it definitely has a retro mixed with modern feel. It's sleek and lively and most of all fun!
The new VW Beetle launches with a 103bhp 1.2-litre TSI turbo petrol and a 158bhp 1.4-litre TSI turbo petrol.
Interestingly, the 1.2 will only be offered in combination with a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission at first, while the 1.4 will come with a six-speed manual gearbox. Claimed combined fuel economy is 47.9mpg for the 1.2 and 42.8mpg for the 1.4, with CO2 emissions of 137g/km and 153g/km respectively.
Three trim levels are available: Beetle, Design and Sport.
Standard kit on the entry-level Beetle includes air conditioning, remote locking and DAB digital radio. Design adds 17-inch alloys, Bluetooth, iPod connectivity, front fog lights, alarm and stereo upgrade. Sport goes further with 18-inch alloys, tinted glass, cruise control, sports seats, parking sensors, dual zone air conditioning and gloss black trimmings.
Optional extras for this new Volkswagen Beetle include keyless go, satellite navigation, panoramic sunroof and a £495 400W stereo upgrade created in association with Fender electric guitars.
The VW Beetle will be available from £16,490
