The refreshed Touareg was recently revealed at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show and will be going on sale in the UK later this month (August) with first deliveries expected in November. Small changes have been made to the Touareg both on the exterior and interior alongside new technology.
On the outside of the car the front bumper has been restyled, and the front-end also features a sharp new bi-xenon headlight design. At the back, Volkswagen has added a new rear bumper alongside a new diffuser. LED rear fog lights have also been incorporated into the bumper creating a cleaner rear. Also available on the modernised model are a choice of two new alloy wheel designs.
Subtle but effective changes have also been made inside the updated Touareg which has new aluminium rotary knobs and white control illumination to replace the previous red. Stylish new chrome accents outline the control panel itself and the car boasts an extended range of upholstery finishes.
Whilst Volkswagen has increased the range of bespoke design options available to customers, the updated Touareg will only offer two engine options as opposed to the three TDI diesel engines and hybrid versions which were available on the old model. The new engine options available are a 3.0-litre V6 diesel, either with 201bhp or 255bhp, and both of these models are fitted with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and Volkswagen’s all-wheel drive system as standard. The Tourareg’s reworked aerodynamics and delicate mechanical changes mean that fuel efficiency has increased by seven percent.
