It was a less than ‘puuurrrrfect’ start for one Lookers Glasgow Audi customer this week when he found he had driven to work with a cat inside his car engine.

Arriving at work on Monday morning he was alerted to an unusual noise coming from the front of his A5 coupe by a colleague.
“I was at my desk when my workmate told me he thought he heard my car meowing. I thought he was joking at first but then went to the car park and checked for myself. I could hear a definite cat-like sound come from the engine”
The concerned driver (who wishes to remain anonymous) called the SSPCA (Scottish Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) who quickly dispatched an officer. When neither could free the furry feline, they contacted the Audi Centre in Braehead.
It was all paws on deck to release the pet with Neil McKerley co-ordinating the efforts. “We worked quickly to remove the bonnet cover which sits on top of the radiator, said the Quality Control Technician, "Looking down I could then see the cat peering out. The SSPCA officer then reached in for the cat and removed it. It’s incredible to think it was unharmed after its journey in the engine along the motorway”
No-one knows how the tenacious tabby - a pedigree Bengal - got into the engine, but thankfully it was unharmed after its adventure.
Neil managed to avert a ‘cat-astrophe’ and the pet is in the process of being reunited with its owner.
