Future Electric Vehicles

There is already a fantastic range of electric vehicles on the market, but with the shift towards electric cars, manufacturers are continuing to develop new models with even better technology. Here are just some of the models we can look forward to in 2020.

Honda e

The Honda e features a minimalist design packed with futuristic technology, power and performance. This new model offers 154PS with torque in excess of 300Nm with a responsive and nimble drive. The interior is spacious and comfortable with a full-width digital dashboard that keeps you informed, entertained and connected. The Honda e has a range of up to 136 miles and can charge to 80% in 30 minutes with a rapid charger.

The new Honda e is due to launch Summer 2020.

Volkswagen ID.3

The Volkswagen ID.3 offers a new look inside and out. The exterior has a bold design that's sure to catch people's eye while the interior has a futuristic style with plenty of legroom and large touch display to keep you connected. The ID.3 comes with a choice of battery sizes, small, medium and large, with the largest offering a range of up to 340 miles, perfect for long journeys. Before even going on sale the ID.3 was awarded the Most Wanted award at the 2019 carwow Car of the Year awards.

The new Volkswagen ID.3 is due to launch Summer 2020.

BMW iX3

The BMW iX3 is BMW's first all-electric X model and describes itself as a Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV). On the exterior you'll find a closed double kidney shaped grille and eye-catching blue accents on a car that makes a statement on the road. It comes with a powerful battery delivering over 70kWh and a range of over 249 miles. Thanks to enhanced charging capabilities, the BMW iX3 can be fully charges in just 30 minutes on a rapid charger.

A release date hasn't been confirmed yet, but the iX3 is expected to be released in 2020.

Volvo XC40 Recharge

The new XC40 is the first electric SUV from Volvo and boasts a range of around 250 miles with a charge to 80% in 40 minutes. The new model is equipped with a range of safety features like an advanced body structure to protect those in the car, blind spot warning with steer assist technology and advanced theft-protection technology. Inside the driver can enjoy embedded Google services like Google Maps and Google Assistant voice control to keep you connected.

The Volvo XC40 Recharge is due to launch Spring 2020.

Audi Q4 e-tron

Audi are aiming to launch 12 electric cars by 2025, and the next on the list is the Audi Q4 e-tron. In terms of size, it’s shorter but wider than the Audi Q5 and has similar exterior styling to the Audi e-tron. The range of the new model is to be around 280 miles thanks to a large 82kW battery. The spacious interior has the luxury and technology you would expect from the Audi range while quattro all-wheel drive technology means you’ll have an enjoyable drive whatever the weather.

The Audi Q4 e-tron is due to launch late 2020.

Tesla Model Y

Tesla are one of the brands at the forefront of electric driving and the new Model Y is the latest in a range of successful models. The new Model Y has a range of 336 miles while offering an interior with room for up to 7 adults. Versatile seating means that you can create flexible storage inside the car for luggage and even furniture. The driver has a great view of the road ahead thanks to an elevated seating position and can keep connected with the 15” touch screen. For an enjoyable drive, the Model Y is equipped with Tesla all-wheel drive for better handling and control.

The release date for the Model Y hasn’t been confirmed yet but we expect it to be late 2020.

Tesla Roadster

The Tesla Roadster calls itself “the quickest car in the world, with record-setting acceleration, range and performance.” With a huge range of 620 miles, this aerodynamic all-electric model is efficient with great performance. Inside the supercar you can still seat four people and the glass roof stores in the boot so you can enjoy open top driving.

The Tesla Roadster is due to launch late 2020.
