Land Rover and gun makers Holland & Holland recently teamed up to create the most luxurious Range Rover ever made. With a price tag of £180,000 we take a closer look at this bespoke car to see what customers can expect fort their money.
Two of Britain's most iconic and prestigious brands recently came together to create the most luxurious and expensive Range Rover ever made. Gun makers Holland & Holland joined forces with Land Rover to create an extravagant customised Range Rover for their clients. The Range Rover was showcased to Lookers customers for the first-time last month as part of Lookers Land Rover Battersea's grand reopening.
The striking car was designed by Holland & Holland who have been gun makers since 1835 when Harris Holland founded the company. As the company began to take off Harris moved to 98 Bond Street, London where the business would stay for the next 100 years. In 1845 when the company was firmly established, Harris took on his nephew Henry who went on to become one of the most prolific gun inventors of all time. The company registered their first Patent in 1861 with the No 1904 Bolt Action Rifle and have since gone to register more Patents than any other British gun maker. During the war the company made Sniper Rifles for the British Government and they were awarded a Royal Warrant by HRH the Duke of Edinburgh in 1963. Today Holland & Holland continue to make hand crafted guns for their clients from around the world.
Like Holland & Holland, Land Rover is a renowned British brand that has been around for over 60 years and also hold a Royal Warrant. To show the continued strength of these two British names they came together to create the most luxurious Range Rover ever made.
The Range Rover which was designed by Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations has been tailored to suit Holland & Holland's clients. The bodywork has been given a deep green colouring which instantly distinguishes it from other models. The grille is also green and features the Holland & Holland badge on the lower accent door badges.
This specialised model has a starting price range of £180,000 a lot more than any other Range Rover ever made, so what can customers expect for their money? Just take a look at the inside and it's easy to understand the price tag. The inside of the Range Rover is unlike anything seen before the upholstery is decorated in soft tan leather, with Executive Class seating which lets passengers recline their seats by 17 degrees. The rear seats also feature a centre console, electrically deployable walnut finished side tables, and bespoke lighting. The Holland & Holland Range Rover is based on the Rand Rover Autobiography Black Edition and has a longer wheelbase giving passengers more legroom.
What makes this model so unique is the boot which has a stunning leather trimmed aluminium loadspace cabinet with the Holland & Holland logo. The cabinet will allow customers to safely transport their guns, and the cabinet can be rem moved when needing more luggage capacity. The cabinet is strong and sturdy and can be used as a seat when needed.
Land Rover only plans to make 40 of these beautiful vehicles each year for the next three years and is only available by special order.
