Today, over 600,000 disabled people and their families enjoy the everyday freedom from leasing a vehicle through the Motability Scheme and on Motability Awareness Week this year, we’re inviting you and your family to find out more about beneficial products and services available to you at Lookers.
From Saturday 6th – Saturday 13th October, you’ll have the opportunity to visit our award-winning dealerships and book an appointment for a chat with one of our Motability specialists, delving into how we make a difference to the lives of our customers.
During the same week, to make shopping easier for autistic people and their families, we’ll also be taking part in Autism Hour, an event which 5,000 retailers got on board with last year. We’re dimming the lights and turning down the music, making the environment more welcoming for those customers with autism.

Through tailored discussions and meetings, we identify the needs of our customers and their families, before suggesting a selection of Motability vehicles for them. We conduct test drives and arrange any adaptations that need to be made to the chosen vehicle. Finally, after clear communication throughout the process, we deliver the ideal Motability car to our customer.
Our relationship doesn't end when customers leave the forecourt either. Through regular communication and servicing we ensure our Motability customers are on the right track at all times.
For Alan, our Motability customer and ex-soldier, his Motability car made him ‘fall in love with driving again.’ He told us, ‘When I’m in the car, I’m in control, I’m no longer disabled. Without the Motability scheme, mentally, I would be struggling.’
Sheridan runs a free B&B for travelling punk rock bands with her husband and registered driver for her Motability car, Jed. Their car allows Jed to take her to and from work as well as take them to see all the bands they put up. Its tinted windows are ideal for Sheridan’s light sensitivity too.
