Global sales figures for Renault in 2014 up by almost five percent

7th July 2014

Following news that Renault has been closing the gap[U1] in sales with European rivals, the company has announced year-to-date global sales increases. Much of the rise is attributed to these successes in Europe, and represents 4.7 percent growth over the same period in 2013.
Worldwide Renault has sold 1.37 million vehicles in the first six months of 2014, and over all markets a substantial share has gone to the Captur SUV. Sub-brand Dacia has also been extremely successful in a short space of time, with the Duster and Sandero proving popular with international motorists.
Renault is continuing to focus on Europe as its key market for the rest of the year. The French manufacturer has also capitalised on the appeal of the compact crossover in its home territory – bucking the country’s generally slower economic growth.
Here in the UK, the Captur is a repeated award winner and stands at the head of its segment. It has received impressively high Euro NCAP safety ratings in all test categories, and covers a vast range of standard equipment with an individual and eye-catching body style.
