SEAT UK sales for 2014 to date improve by more than 20 percent

30th July 2014

SEAT's half-year vehicle sales in the UK have recently been announced, and the manufacturer is pleased to boast an increase of over 20 percent compared to 2013. As always, the figures come from the industry's Society of Motoring Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

The 27,342 units registered since January 2014 set a new record for SEAT, with an impressive 32.2 percent rise in retail sales and close to 4,600 more than for the same period last year. The brand has now beaten its own January-June performance for the third year in a row, and outpaced the growth of the entire UK vehicle market by ten percent.

Leading the charge for the SEAT range, the Ibiza and Leon enjoy strong popularity with UK motorists. The Ibiza has been the choice of almost 12,000 drivers, with the Leon very close behind at around 11,500 sold. Some new models are already scheduled for release, boosting the line-up's appeal further, and special editions including the Mii by MANGO and Ibiza 30th Anniversary Edition are exciting news for brand fans.

July 2014 has been a very successful month for SEAT, as the vehicle range also collected several Auto Express awards. Three versions of the Leon claimed prizes: the original as 'Small Family Car of the Year', the Cupra as the best city car and the ST as a winning estate vehicle.
